Photo ColorPicker >The Details > Snap to
This option finds the closest color found in the selected color library or print condition. The patches will split color, showing both the original and closest match.
The actual palette color is in the upper-left corner of each patch, and the appearance of its closest matching "Snap To" color is in the lower-right corner of each patch. Its name in the "Snap-To" selected color system appears as the last entry in the Color Information panel.
Example 1
Find the closest Munsell Glossy coated color for a color you've measured with the Photo ColorPicker. Set Snap-to, to "Munsell Glossy", and then select a color in your palette. The upper-left corner of the patch shows the measured color. The lower-right corner of the patch shows the closest Munsell Glossy color. Its name appears at the bottom of the Color Information panel.
Example 2:
Find the closest Munsell Glossy color for a color extracted from an image. Simply extract a color from an image and place into a palette, select Munsell Glossy in the Snap To pop-up menu. Now, click on that color, and the Color Information panel will list, on the last line, the name of the clostest Munsell Glossy color.
Example 3:
Find the closest CMYK value for any color in the palette, by selecting the profile for a printing condition. Each printing condition requires unique CMYK values to reproduce a particular color, so it is important to choose a profile that describes the actual printing condition used.
