Photo ColorPicker > Easy Palette

Let's say you have an image, and you quickly want to make a palette containing colors in that image, or related to that image. Photo ColorPicker makes this really simple and fast.

  1. On your computer, find an image. Supported file types are: PNG, JPEG, TIFF, BMP.
  2. Drag-drop the image onto the main application window area in Photo ColorPicker. A new palette is auto-created, named with the same name as the image, and populated with the twelve (12) most significant colors in the image.
  3. Click on the palette to view the image and colors.
  4. Click on a color. The Relations panel live-updates Harmony, Variations, and Similar. To add, drag-drop any patch from these areas into your palette. Drag-drop the patch into the center area, or onto a palette listing under Projects.
  5. Check the "Synchronize" check box, found in the lower-left panel of the Photo ColorPicker main application window. This will export and install swatch files for Photoshop®, Illustrator®, InDesign®, and QuarkXPress®.
  6. For a newly created palette, you will need to relaunch your applications for them to see the new swatches.
  7. When updating an existing palette, you do not need to relaunch your applications for them to see updates.
  8. To share the palette with others, go to File > Export to export the palette in a wide variety of supported formats.
